After the Body Lift
A body lift is a relatively extensive plastic surgery procedure, so it is best to be prepared for downtime. Dr. Proffitt will help you prepare for recovery by providing instructions in advance of your surgery. Prescription medications are used to help manage postoperative pain. Antibiotics are also used, along with special compression garments, to promote skin contraction.
Surgical drains will be placed for about a week after your body lift. Aerobic exercise or strenuous activities will need to be postponed for about six weeks.
