Rhinoplasty Mobile is a procedure that is ideal for candidates whose facial growth is complete, are non-smokers, in good health, and who have a realistic expectation for the procedure and their goal. The Rhinoplasty procedure is performed under intravenous sedation or general anesthesia. The incision may be made either inside the nose (“closed procedure”) or outside the nose across the narrow tissue strip between the nostrils (“open procedure”). Dr. Randy Proffitt will then reshape, remove or add nose cartilage and/or remove bone to create the desired result. When the desired result is achieved the incisions will be closed. There will be splints and gauze placed to support the nose as it heals for the days following the procedure. Swelling and bruising is normal and to be expected but will subside in the weeks following the procedure. Everyone heals and recovers at their own pace and while some initial results may be immediately visible, your nose will continue to heal and refine into it’s final, permanent outcome for several months after the procedure.

As with any surgical procedure there are risks to consider and it is important to fully understand the risks as well as the benefits of any procedure. The first step is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Proffitt during which you will be examined, asked about your medical history, your goals and your questions. This is a great time to make evaluate your motives, make sure you understand what the procedure and recovery will entail and find out not only if you are a good candidate for the procedure but also if your expectations are realistic.
